The Solar Eclipse
This morning Monday October 3rd 2005 there was a partial solar eclipse but you could not see the sun because it was cloudy. A solar eclipse is when the sun is shining on earth and the moon blocks it and there is a shadow and if you have special glasses you can see the sun. But when the moon is in front of the earth the moon looks so big when it is near to earth. The moon passes around earth all the time even when it is daytime. You should never look at the sun directly or it will damage your eyes.

Today is Monday the 3rd of October. It is a very cloudy day so we did not see the solar eclipse. But even if we were able to see it would blind us. The solar eclipse happens when the moon blocks the sun, you need special glasses to look at the eclipse.
