Lumcloon National School - Building fir the Future 2003
In 2003 we decided to participate in the Irish Independent/Sunday Independent Building for the Future Project whic was sponsored by CIE.
The theme for the project was Caring for Others. Classes from third to sixth workd on the project and investigated the different ways in which we can care for others, from dressing the children in theInfant classes to protecting the environment for the generations to come.
As 2003 was the year Ireland hosted the Special Olympics we also looked at the games and what they mean to those who participate and are involved in any way.
The project was very interesting and all the children enjoyed working on it and were very proud of the finished product.
As the County Offaly winners representatives from Irish Independent/Sunday Independent and CIE came to our school and presented us with our prize. We had a great day decorating the school and we had a party afterwards.
