Here is a map of Ballybridge, the place where the Carrolls live. Their house
is the yellow square near the south-west bank of of Loch Domhain. The lorry
depot whereTeresa works is just down the road on Pebble Lane in Leabeg. Their
Dad, John travels through the village, left at River Road and up Hill View to
the Power station. Ballybridge is a small village with two shops, a post-office,
a couple of pubs and of course a bridge (humpbacked) over the River Óir, which
flows into nearby Loch Domhain, a favourite haunt of anglers and birdwatchers.
Heather Hill is another area of outstanding natural beauty and all the local
area can be seen from here, including the deserted ruins of an old flax mill,
which people say is haunted by the ghost of a young boy who was killed here.Kildorka
Wood is where the Aces hold their meetings and the children ride their bikes
here, also.
